How much does couples therapy / marriage counselling cost?
Our licensed couples counsellors and marriage counsellors are registered social workers.
At CASE Psychology, our couples therapy rate is $ 190. per hour, and you may find that couples sessions are usually longer than 1 hour in duration, such as 1 hour and 15 minutes, or 1 hour and 30 minutes, to allow sufficient time for both partners.
The same rate applies for in-person couples therapy, as well as for online video couples therapy.
In Ontario, therapy and counselling services from registered social workers are HST-exempt.
Your payment card on file will be charged at the end of your couples therapy session, and we’ll email you the official receipt.
Will my extended health insurance cover the cost of couples therapy / marriage counselling?
Couples therapy and marriage counselling provided by private clinics, such as CASE Psychology, are not covered under OHIP in Ontario.
We recommend that you check with your insurance provider whether you and your partner have extended health insurance coverage for registered social workers.

How many couples therapy sessions will my partner & I need?
Generally, there’s no specific number of couples therapy or marriage counselling sessions that you and your partner may need, as it depends on several factors, including the types and severity of the presenting challenges, and how well progress is being made.
